Nassau, Grand Bahama Island

For a break from the constant battles with the albacores an opportunity arose to give the Caribbean a shot. Carolyn and a good friend, Dee Siegel, had the opportunity to attend a national convention of their college sorority, AE Phi, at Nassau on Grand Bahama Island. With the opportunity to fish those waters I couldn't resist accompanying the girls along with Dee's husband, Al (not known for his ability to tolerate the high seas). We did some snorkeling, picking up conch shells, and I went out for a 1/2 day of fishing. Result was one sailfish and one white marlin. No bonanza, but an opportunity to get on the scoreboard for the LA Billfish's Grand Slam award (Striped, Blue, White and Black Marlins, Sailfish, and a bonus, Swordfish).
