I Marty Morris of the Ken-Dan was out looking for marlin today and he covered a good amount of water while looking at the 289 Spot, 181 Spot and on down the Ridge from the 181 Spot. What he found within that zone was some nice sunny weather, a nice ocean, a mako shark caught by Harry Okuda and 2 lazy tailers that did not want to bite. Marty reported finding the two tailers about 4.5 miles inside of the 289 Spot while on a course toward the 209 Spot. That would have you in the area of latitude and longitude coordinates 3259 and 11801 which is 45 miles 283 degrees from Point Loma. He saw quite a bit of bait in that zone and reported that the water was at 69.1 degrees and was a blue that was a bit off color. As he worked down The Ridge the water was at 68.5 degrees and was also an off color blue. The Ken-Dan was the only boat I heard out looking for marlin today. The weather was nice in these areas today. As always, be sure to check the latest marine weather forecast before you go.
