1983 - Pre-Fishing (i.e. Prospecting) on the Osborn Bank
Harry, Geoff and I brought the boat up to
Avalon from San Diego. On the way we (Geoff) snagged one someplace
between the 181 and the East End. We then decided to check out the
Osborn Bank and the day before the start of the tournament made the run,
found what we were looking for and got two jig fish. Needless to say,
during the tournament we didn't fare too well. As I recall Bill
Feldhorn's "SEAMARK" with 2 fish by the late Don McAdam came away with
1st Place - yes, at the Osborn. Too bad scores before the tournament
don't count. |
