Unfortunately I forgot to take picture of the ADF unit which
is mounted inside at the front-left corner of the windows -
along with it's own VHF radio which accounts for the second
VHF antenna above. The old VHF antenna was moved up to make
them symmetrical.
Why another VHF radio? This is a Ray Hsieh special. It is
programmed to cover (and scan) ALL 200 channels that are
available including 2 meter Ham radio bands that a lot of
the boats are using for secrecy. Where mounted, they do not
interfere with vision through the window.
Sorry, but there doesn't seem to be any room left for more
add-ons unless, of course we build in a Sonar.
Today is beautiful with no wind and flat seas. Perfect for
going south (only 65 miles to the 213) or looking for the
others locally. Tomorrow the winds build up with local gusts
to 25. Sounds nasty for the next few days.
